Qiang Du, Research Scientist (permanent appointment) at SINTEF Materials and Chemistry, Trondheim, Norway
Qiang Du (born 1974) received his doctorate degree in materials science and engineering in 2001 from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences and bachelor degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1996. He is a Research Scientist (permanent appointment) at SINTEF Materials and Chemistry, Trondheim, Norway since 2011. He had worked as Research Associate at University of British Columbia, Canada (2008-2011) and at University of Leicester, United Kingdom (2007-2008), Research fellow at Netherlands Institute for Metal Research, Delft, Netherlands (2004-2007), and post-doc at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland (2002-2004). His main research fields include: through-process modeling of aluminum fabrication, CALPHAD, solidification and heat treatment of metallic alloys, microstructure characterization by OM, SEM and EBSD and simulation software development.
